Member Code of Ethics
In its ongoing quest to promote the profession and set standards of practice, CSTD has approved a code of ethics for members. To ensure that the highest levels of professionalism, competence, and discretion are maintained within the Training & Development community, CSTD members must practice and promote the following ethical standards:
- Incorporate the principles of adult learning in human resource development
- Respect individual differences and human rights
- Honour client confidentiality
- Advance the field of knowledge in human resource development and management
- Provide high quality consulting and development services
- Offer only services which you are qualified and experienced to deliver
- Empower people to realize their potential
- Support the growth and integrity of CSTD throughout Canada
- Refrain from personal gain through improper use of the organization's platform and resources
- Ensure that your conduct is professional, legal, and honest
- Observe all laws and restrictions of copyright
- Acknowledge the authors of original material and concepts.
