Member Code of Ethics

In its ongoing quest to promote the profession and set standards of practice, CSTD has approved a code of ethics for members. To ensure that the highest levels of professionalism, competence, and discretion are maintained within the Training & Development community, CSTD members must practice and promote the following ethical standards:

 

  • Incorporate the principles of adult learning in human resource development
  • Respect individual differences and human rights
  • Honour client confidentiality
  • Advance the field of knowledge in human resource development and management
  • Provide high quality consulting and development services
  • Offer only services which you are qualified and experienced to deliver
  • Empower people to realize their potential
  • Support the growth and integrity of CSTD throughout Canada
  • Refrain from personal gain through improper use of the organization's platform and resources
  • Ensure that your conduct is professional, legal, and honest
  • Observe all laws and restrictions of copyright
  • Acknowledge the authors of original material and concepts.
